Your dating over 40. The bar scene is getting a bit dicey. Increase your odds! The more social you are the better your odds of meeting women, plain and simple. Look at women, say "hi" while you're grocery shopping or standing in the coffee line.
Keep your head up, walk confidently and leave your sweats at home. Girls are less intimidated in their everyday lives than at clubs. I always meet women at my gym, for instance, women see me often which makes them comfortable and more approachable.
Charities
Dating over 40? Go to Charities! Charities are great, there are always more women than guys. Also, by being at a charity, women think you are a caring individual, even if you don’t give a rat’s ass about abandoned cats.
Facebook
Even when you're home you can be socializing and lining up a date. You'll be amazed at how many of your ex-girlfriends in high school and college are now single. Stay in touch even if you're not interested, they have single friends that you haven't met.

Church
Church rocks! I meet lots of girls at church. Try it, you'll bump into lots of sweet foxy women. You can most definitely pick up girls at church.
Hit on the help
I do it all the time and it works. Patronize as many places as often as you can. Coffee shops, local bars, clothing stores. These places are great to meet women. They have to serve you so they have to engage with you, it makes the whole process easier. I dated this nice girl at Dunkin Donuts, free coffee!

What's the normal guy to girl ratio in life? 2 to 1? 3 to 1? Or do I dare say 4 to 1? which is a total cock rub. Go to wine tasting event. It rocks! They are in all major cities and towns and many more women attend than men. These chicks are sophisticated (until they get drunk) and are fun. Wine tasting events are great for men dating over 40.
Try Something New
Another dating over 40 tip for men is to get out and try something new. Guys can find older women by simply attending some type of activity, maybe at the Y or a dance class.
A computer course at a local college is something I did and I made some great friends.
A beginners or novice course means that everyone will be on the same level as you, which makes for interesting conversation. Engage people in these conversations, who knows?, many may be single.
In Conclusion
There are so many places to meet women when you are dating over 40. Church, charities, wine tasting and Facebook are venues other than the usual clubs and bars. The key is to get out and get in the game. Realize that there are thousands of people, just like you who are single, and ready to meet!

How to overcome shyness is a common problem. You are not alone. I suffered from shyness and I know it can be quite painful. It's tough for the shy person because you have already been labeled as "a shy person". Once people label you as shy it's difficult to break.
You yourself have to realize the need to overcome shyness. This fear holds you back in life. Work promotions and relationships suffer. There are 5 steps for overcoming shyness. These steps all revolve around building self confidence.
How to be less shy is a series of 5 baby steps:
• Realize why you need to change
• Tell a close friend to help you amongst social groups
• Lose the people that will not support you
• Practice everyday engaging in longer conversations
• seek professional help in extreme cases
Baby Steps
Obviously you are not going to start by making a public speech. No, take baby steps. Make a list of small challenges first. Tell yourself you are going to speak up more. Choose a close friend that you know will not judge you and SPEAK UP with them. This friend will be surprised at your confidence and this is good, except it.
Tell your friend you need their support. Ask him or her to help you overcome your shyness by allowing you to participate in conversations with a group. This can be done by your friend asking you a question. This makes you the center of attention for a brief minute.
By taking the questions and expanding more and more with answers, smiles and soon to be conversations, you will find you will start to overcome your shyness. This is how I did it and it worked. Challenge your fear step by step.
If you encounter people that criticize you for coming out of your shyness than do not hang out with them. Realize they are not your friend if they want you to shut up and be a mute. Don't hang out with people that will not support you in your quest to overcome shyness.
Another step to for overcoming shyness is pick a friend that is quiet also. Now, be the loud mouth amongst you, it's fun and it empowers you. My problem of overcoming shyness was that I hung out with so many extroverts. I couldn't get a word in!
If you are extremely shy seek professional help first. It's ok. I needed it and it helped. Just a few sessions with someone that will not judge you helps overcoming shyness tremendously. It allows you to gain a "foot hold" on the problem.

This is a common mistake I see with guys. They get the girl out and they continue to "try to pick her up". You’ve already picked her up. She likes you cause she is out with you. Stop the progression of picking her up and move into the next gaming phase of taking it to another level.
She flakes because she is confused in your intentions.
Women want a guy that moves forward with the relationship not sideways. Many women don’t have the time or patience with a guy that is confusing them. I have heard many girls tell me about their dates and one of the biggest issues is why didn’t the guy try to sleep with them or at least kiss them?
This could be the nice guy syndrome coming out in you. A man may think he needs to continue with the picking up and impressing process because he lacks the confidence to close the girl. You may have a closing issue.
To further complicate matters, the guy gets confused when the girl withdrawals her flirting and pulls back. This in turn starts the man trying to pick her up again.

Sometimes the key to picking up a girl and dating her is not screwing up. Most men seem to mess up every possible situation. We talk about ourselves, exagerate, we don't listen, we dress like bums, and we don't pay for dinner. Half the battle is not to screw up. Pick up artists don't screw up
We think women want looks and money
Not True. Women are attracted to how a man makes them feel. Sure if you look like a troll that grills squirrel under a bridge, she will be repulsed. And yes there are the gold diggers that you want to avoid. Learning the attraction principles of women is key, not looks and money. The player knows the attraction principles.
If you understand the keys of seduction you hold the power as if you had all the looks and money in the world.
Taking control, humor, dance, chivalry, and adapting to different women like a chameleon on a rock will pay spades in your quest for whatever girl you want.

If you don’t approach immediately, the situation becomes awkward. She realizes you are not an alpha male, and she moves on. You’ve blown another opportunity.
Be prepared. Your body, your hygiene, your clothes, your opening lines. She will notice. Learn eye contact and body language. You need to know when to kiss her and how. Not only will preparation make your life so much easier, you will dust your lame competition. The pick up artist is always prepared.

Yes I’m trying to promote my own ass, I admit. But why not listen to the pros? Listen, put me on the golf course and I will hit the guy behind me off the skull, but stick me in a venue with hot pussy and I’ll blow your mind.

Now That I'm Single Where The Heck Do I Meet Women?
Where To Meet Women, I've Got Some Better Ideas
You're a single middle aged guy, maybe recently divorced, and ready to get back on the horse (no pun intended). Where do you go to meet women? To the bar you say! Wrong, well at least at first. Come on, get your feet wet. A bar on a Friday or Saturday night sounds like a great place to meet women but think about it. Women know that all guys are out to hit on them, they've got their guards up and they are ready to do battle!
So Mr. Gladiator unless your skills are honed to the max, you're gonna go down. That's not pretty. You don't need that blow to your confidence, at least not yet. Not to say that the bar scene won't work for you, it may, but I have much better ideas.
Try something new
How about salsa dancing, a cooking class, an alpine adventure, white water rafting or even a car show. The point here is to get yourself out there and be social. Do this in a non intimidating social environment that doesn't trigger a girl's "I'm getting hit on radar". This is the key.
Years ago I was using all my resources on Friday and Saturday night at the bars and clubs. I figured out I was only putting eight hours a week into my social life. I was compartmentalizing ( wow big word for me) my social life. Work was work, grocery shopping was buying food. And Xmas shopping was buying presents...nothing more.
I changed, I said what if I make all my usual dull activities and make them all into social events! It worked, man did it work. Suddenly my eight hours turned into forty hours. I was dressing up to go grocery shopping for Pete's sake!
In Conclusion
Guys my point is there are so many better places to meet women than the usual bars and watering holes. Try some new hobbies that may interest you, and join some new groups. Also when you're doing the everyday mundane tasks try turning them into social events. Loose the sweats and the ball hat and act like your going out. Try using a little eye contact and say "excuse me" and ask a question to a girl. The results will amaze you.

I got asked this dating tip for guys question the other day, this time posed as a serious question. All these years and finally, someone wanted an answer...huh?
Here are my thoughts.
Experience and What you Perceive
If you have limited dating women experience than go for an "average girl." Not because she is average but because you’re inexperienced. If you go for a "ten" than you will be nervous, your game will fall apart and you will fail.
If you are experienced dating women than why go for average. You want to be with a "ten" so go for a ten. I find no joy in getting a girl I don’t find attractive. Furthermore my game is off when I go for average. I’m just not into it and this becomes blatantly evident to the "average girl."
Define What is Average and What is a Ten?
Great question. This is perception. When an amateur starts off he might perceive a ten to be what someone else perceives to be a five. As his skills and confidence improves what was once a ten is now a six. For me, a ten used to be a hot body and a beautiful face. Intelligence didn’t matter. I would wake up with a girl dumber than a brick and that was ok. Now my ten is an eight or nine but needs to have a brain larger than a squirrel. Try to find a ten with a hot body, brain and a beautiful face and I’ll show you a flying pig.
You see it’s all what a person perceives to be hot, ugly or average. Remember you need something to compare. A control if you will. If a guy has never had a serious relationship than how does he know what he wants or what he qualifies as hot or average?
Other guys will tell me they have high standards. Do they really? Or is this an excuse not to try to get the girls for fear of rejection?
This relates to women also. How do girls know if they are into older or younger guys if they have no experience with either one. Or if they did once, it sucked, and they used this as their only control.
The "Ten"
The ten is in your mind, and always will be. The ten is always illusive and should be. What I thought to be a ten, years ago, is not anymore. She was the one that I couldn’t dream of possibly approaching, she was drop dead gorgeous. This girl is my average everyday hook up on par with me today. Not because I’m a better looking guy, I’m not, or have more money, I do, but because my perceptions on life and all my experiences have changed me.

We were planning New Year’s Eve. The parlor suite at Mandalay Bay, the head table at Il Bacio in Delray Beach. Every year we make a plan. This year we were staying local in Boston, The Liberty Hotel.
Then suddenly my buddy tells me he’s flying in a girlfriend from South Carolina for the New Year. I had 10 days to get a date. Bummer. I’m screwed I thought.
Maybe not. Ya I could get a date but maybe it’s time to fly solo. You see just about every time I go out I’ve got a wing man. This is fun but there are some negatives. Let me explain.
The wing man, your buddy who knows you the best. He plays off you as well as supports your every pick up move. He compliments you on that crappy, wrinkled rag of shirt you're about to wear.
He’s the guy that you get primed with early in the evening. Why wouldn’t you want him by your side every night? The wing man is great but you need to experience life without him some nights. New Year's Eve was one of those nights for me.
Understand This
The wing man can keep you in your safe zone too long. Women get picked up early. While you’re whooping it up with your buddy, women are getting picked up. Do you know who's picking them up? Yes the pick-up pro.
Ya, you know him, that average looking guy that just walks up to any beautiful chick and sweeps her off her feet. We all hate that idiot.
You see, the pros go out often and they go out alone.
By going out alone you are forced into action. You have two options, pout in the corner or pick up a girl. Also, how many times have you not approached a woman because you didn't want your wingman to give you crap? When you're alone no one knows if you get shot down (no one who knows you personally anyway).
In my case on New Year's eve it was easy. My buddy had a date, this forced me into action. I was not going to watch everyone kiss at the stroke of midnight while I’m a looking like a loser all alone… no way.
Searching for women prospects was better because I wasn’t busy chatting with my wing man or wing men. I new exactly who was single, and who was fun. I watched while everyone came in the door.
I took action and I took action early. In fact by nine thirty I had hit on three girls and by ten, the number four girl was the twenty-five-year-old hottie who took me home. Ah, life is good.
In Conclusion
I love going out with my wing man, don’t get me wrong. But sometimes I feel you need to try going out alone. I realize it’s tough to get motivated, but crank some music, snap open a cold beer and try it.
Too afraid? Try this, meet your buddy later in the night. This way you’re on your own for a while but you know your wing man is on his way. I went down to my place in West Palm two days earlier than my buddies so I could be "That Guy"!
I find picking up women alone can be exciting and easier.

No wing man need apply. The pick up artist doesn’t waste precious time yapping with his buddies. He goes after the available women quickly and systematically. He saves buddy time for playing racquetball or watching football.

No lack of confidence in this guy. He knows rejection, but it affects him in a positive way. Instead of going fetal, he takes rejection competitively and tries even harder to pick up a lady.
Think getting hit on the football field for the first time of the game. He get' s all fired up when rejected (hit)... I'm trying to make an analogy, work with me.
Most guys can’t handle the first "get lost" from a woman. He laughs and tries even harder.

Surprise! That’s right. The pick up artist had to work hard to learn his skills. Many times this guy has had older sisters and no brothers. This pick up artist learned in his early days how to deal with women and their quirky emotional ways.
The "model dude" is good too but for "looks" reasons. He’ll get laid but forget about holding onto a relationship.
If he didn't have looks he would wet his pants! My bet is on the average looking pick up artist any day!
